This online homebuyer education course uses a total of 6 modules consisting of 319 slides, There is a quiz at the end of each module. You must receive a passing score on each quiz in order to complete the course. Click here to register.

Individual Pre-purchase Counseling

HAPHousing can provide an in-depth analysis of your readiness to buy a home, credit history review, the use of alternative credit and how your credit score affects mortgage approval. Homebuyer Education

The nine-hour first-time homebuyers' education course covers all the steps in finding, financing, purchasing and maintaining a home. Information is provided on the wide range of programs and financing resources available to first-time buyers. Courses are held regularly throughout the region and are also available in Spanish.

HAPHousing’s first-time homebuyers' education course has received a Seal of Approval from the Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative. Participants receive a certificate of completion that is necessary to access several special mortgage products.

If you are thinking about buying a two-, three- or four-family home, we encourage you to attend HAPHousing’s rental property management workshops for the information you will need to successfully own rental property. For more basic help with money management, household budgeting and credit counseling, HAPHousing offers financial literacy workshops.

Once you complete our first-time homebuyers' education course, you may be eligible for individual counseling to help with special budgeting, credit-worthiness, mortgage application and other tasks involved in a home purchase.

HAPHousing offers an online course for eligible individuals for an additional fee. You must contact Eric Freeman at efreeman@haphousing.org or 413-233-1621 to register prior to beginning the online course. HAPHousing will provide you with access to the online course once you have registered.
